Follow these instructions exactly when connecting your REV Loader. Connecting the REV Loader before you install the software may lead to loss of functionality and require you to repeat the install procedure. 1. Install the software from the Solutions CD. If the CD menu does not launch automatically, launch the Start program on the Solutions CD. Reboot your computer if prompted. NOTE: This step installs the drivers necessary for your REV drive. 2. Connect the REV Loader to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or power outlet. 3. Power on the REV Loader, using the switch on the back of the unit. 4. Connect the REV Loader to your computer using the included USB cable. NOTE: Windows 2003 Server and 64-bit Windows users may be required to click YES on the Security Alert screen to complete the installation. 5. Your computer may take a couple of minutes to recognize the REV Loader. NOTE: Your computer is automatically installing the drivers necessary for the loader functions of your drive to operate. If the New Hardware Wizard appears, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Use the option for Install the software automatically. 6. Restart your computer. 7. For more information on loading REV disks, see Accessing REV disks on page 24. CAUTION! · If you are unable access the REV Loader menu when you right-click on the REV icon --or-- · If CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup does not recognize the REV Loader, some of the software was probably not installed correctly. The software install process is a two part process; however, the second installation occurs automatically in the background on some operating systems. If you connected the REV Loader BEFORE you completed the initial software install, you may have to repeat the install process for it to function properly. To correct this problem, disconnect the REV Loader from your computer, uninstall the Iomega software from the Add/Remove Programs control panel, then repeat the install instructions above. Disk Compatibility Drive REV Loader 280 REV Loader 560 1 REV 35 disk REV 70 disk P P 1 P The REV Loader 560 drive can read and write REV 35 disks. However, write performance to a REV 35 disk is significantly reduced. 4 Installation rapide ATTENTION ! Suivez ces instructions à la lettre lors de la connexion de votre REV Loader.
